The OLSS is a reliable tool to assess and support students' motivation, self-control, digital literacy, and anxiety in online learning.
This study analyzed the Online Learning Strategies Scale (OLSS) among 520 university students to evaluate its reliability. The analysis confirmed that the scale successfully and consistently measures four critical dimensions of virtual study: motivation, self-control, internet literacy, and internet anxiety.
Use the OLSS as a pre-course diagnostic tool to identify students' specific support needs before learning begins. Designers can then create targeted interventions, such as digital literacy tutorials or low-stakes introductory activities, to address low self-control or high anxiety.
Professional conferences bridge virtual gaps and foster critical collaborations to disseminate online learning research.
In online discussions, students synthesize and integrate ideas most deeply when they see the practical utility of the topic.
Simple, physical tasks like origami can successfully teach complex theories online when paired with structured video reflections.
Engaging graduate students in co-creating design-based research transforms them into active, networked practice-based scholars.
